The German bilateral chambers actively seek to involve national chambers of ASEAN Member States (AMSs) and ASEAN Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI).
The German Chambers of Commerce and Industry in ASEAN established the German Chambers ASEAN Business Council to provide a dialogue platform and to strengthen regional cooperation and support regional trade and investment. It will provide instruments to enable ASEAN policy-makers to identify bottlenecks of strategic importance for the implementation of the AEC Blueprint, including economic policies influencing ASEAN’s trade and investment climate exchange information between businesses and chambers to improve the institutional representation and ultimately institutional support from chambers to business formulate joint positions on issues concerning ASEAN trade and investment to enable companies to adjust their business rationale to current policy thinking of ASEAN key stakeholders and expected changes in ASEAN’s trade and investment climate.
